Soil: Prefers fertile loams, adaptable to other sites.  Drought tolerant.

Form: Rounded, open

Height: 40 to 70 feet

Width: 60 to 80 feet

 Flower/Fruit: Fringed cup acorn

Comments: Excellent wildlife value.  Long lived.  Excellent for landscaping, yards, and parks. Sensitive to root compaction. Used on boulevards but acorns may be messy.
