Site Requirements:  Full sun.

Soil: Loamy or sandy soils.  Does best along rivers, lakes, ravines.

Form: Pyramidal when young.  Oval to rounded when mature.

Height: 30-55 feet

Width: 20-40 feet

 Flower/Fruit: Flower is 2-4 inch hanging catkin.  Fruit is heart-shaped nutlet.

Comments: Food for numerous birds and mammals.  Used for landscaping.
