Site Requirements: Full sun.  Drought resistant.

Soil:  Prefers loamy soils with a pH between 5.0-5,7. 

Form: Broad spreading, densely twiggy

Height: 6-10 feet

Width: 6-10 feet

Leaf: Simple, elliptical

Flower/Fruit: Edible dark red fruit.

Comments: Excellent wildlife value.  Edible fruit used in pies and jellies.  Fruit is relished by many songbirds. Nesting cover for a few species of songbirds. Browsed by rabbits, mice, and deer, which could cause serious injury if control measures are not taken.
