Wadena SWCD Webpage

50 YEARS OF HISTORY: Established on May 26th of 1958,
the Wadena Soil & Water Conservation District was organized by local farmers, with help from the Agriculture Extension Service. Early projects consisted of mapping soils on local farms and writing conservation plans.

Mission: The Wadena Soil & Water Conservation District seeks to achieve and maintain the highest quality and quantity of natural resources possible through wise stewardship for now and the future within the limits of human and financial means available.

Board Meetings: Held the 3rd Monday of each month at our office, except when on a holiday they are the following Monday, and are open to the public. April-November 7:30 p.m., December-March 1:00 p.m.

Office Hours: Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

Location: We are located on US Highway 71, one mile north of the junction of US Highways 71 and 10 in Wadena in the USDA Service Center.
