Please note - The Pine County Board of Commissioners usually meet on the first and the third Tuesday of every month. The meeting on the first Tuesday is at the Pine County Courthouse in Pine City at 10 a.m. The meeting on the third Tuesday is at the Public Works Building in Sandstone at 1 p.m. Please check with the Pine County Coordinator's office for meeting changes.

The Pine County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors usually meet on the 4th Tuesday of every month at the Pine SWCD office in Hinckley at 4:30 p.m.  Please check with the Pine SWCD office for meeting changes.

Government offices are closed on most holidays. Please check with each individual office on their designated closings.

March 29 - SWCD Annual Meeting - Tobies Restaurant, Hinckley from 9 - 12 noon. You are invited to attend our meeting This year’s featured topic is Climate Change. PRE-REGISTRATION is required. Please call the SWCD office to register at 320-384-7431.

April 25 - Deadline for 2006 Tree & Shrub Orders! Be sure to get your order in early. Don’t wait until April, as we tend to start running out of certain species as early as the end of February. Check out our website at www.pineswcd.org for the most current listing of available stock.

May 1,2,3 - Tree & Shrub pick-up (tentative) - Hinckley - We will be sending out information in mid to late April as to the conformed dates, time and place.

May 5 - Area III Envirothon- -Camp Heartland - This an outdoor enviromental competition for high school students grades 9 - 12. Please contact us for information.

May 14 - State Envirothon - Outdoor enviromental competition for high school students grades 9 - 12 that have advanced from the seven areas envirothons.

May 15 - Fresh Water Fair, Pine City Fairgrounds - The Pokegama Lake Association sponsors the outdoor event for over 600 students. Contact Dick Zelenak 651-738-0563 for more information.

June 12 - Free Water Testing Clinics - Bring a small jar of water and we will test it for nitrates. It just takes a few minutes, and it’s FREE! Contact the SWCD at 320-384-7431 for more information.

July 23 - 29 - National Envirothon - Outdoor learning competition for high school students grades 9 - 12 that have advanced from 44 states and 9 Canadian Provinces.

July 31 - Aug 3 Pine County Fair Fairgrounds Pine City - Pine SWCD/NRCS have a booth in the Snake River Valley Conservation Building. Be sure to stop by and check out the information.
