The Goodhue SWCD accepted authority of the feedlot program in December of 2000.  This means that we now have the authority to regulate feedlots up to 999 animal units.  We feel that local administration of the program will make permitting faster, more convenient, and more farmer friendly.  Steve Schmidt is our Feedlot Compliance Coordinator.

In order to be in compliance with State and County Feedlot Regulations and to be eligible for future cost-share on feedlots, all livestock facilities with 10 or more animal units must register with Goodhue SWCD.  In addition, feedlots with less than 300 animal units may be eligible for extended time lines to get their feedlot into compliance.  To register your feedlot, stop by the Goodhue SWCD office or click on REGISTRATION to print out the form and return it to us.
