2008 BIG TREE CONTEST

Wing County.  Nominations are being taken through July 1st, 2008 with the grand champion to be announced during the Crow Wing County fair.  The winner will not only have the honor of being recognized as the founder of the largest tamarack in Crow Wing County, but will receive a cheap but fabulous prize, and the tree will also be submitted to Minnesota’s Big Tree Program as a nominee.

Nominee’s are judged on three measurements:

· The circumference in inches of its trunk at 4-1/2 feet above the ground,

· Its height in feet, and

· One-quarter of its crown spread in feet.

The total of these measurements is the points awarded to that particular tree.  The tree with the most points will be declared Champion.  Completed nomination forms should be submitted to:

For orders under $100.00, the entire amount must be paid when ordering.

All orders exceeding $100.00 require a 50% down payment which must be paid at the time you place your order. The balance is due in full when you  pick up your stock. Your stock will not be reserved until we receive the down payment or payment in full.

Deadline for ordering is March 1, 2008, or until supplies are gone.

Order early to assure your choice of species and size. We cannot guarantee selection or size.

Trees will be distributed from the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds around the first part of May.

You will be notified by mail of exact dates and times of distribution
