News Feature 10/15/2007 Improving Urban LandscapesThe Plant Materials Program is helping meet the NRCS goal of maintaining and enhancing the health of plant communities. Using plants in urban landscapes can be a valuable component of managing storm-water runoff. This is being accomplished by selecting adapted plant technology that can be used to improve the quality of urban landscapes. The Plant Materials program consists of a network of 27 Plant Materials Centers (PMC) throughout the United States. In Minnesota, NRCS utilizes technical assistance from the Bismarck Plant materials Center. For more information about the PMC in Bismarck, please visit: http://plant-materials.nrcs.usda.gov/ndpmc/ |
