U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar visits NRCS state office in St. Paul
On Friday, February 16, 2007 Minnesota’s newest U.S. Senator stopped by to
meet and greet the NRCS state office employees. The purpose of U.S. Senator Amy
Klobuchar’s visit was to learn more about the USDA-Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS), Conservation and Farm Bill work in the state of
Minnesota. This is the first time a U.S. Senator has ever visited the NRCS
state office!
William Hunt, State Conservationist for MN NRCS gave a brief presentation
on the background and history of NRCS and shared a brief synopsis of the
various discretionary and mandatory programs NRCS has to offer in Minnesota.
Following Mr. Hunt’s presentation, Senator Klobuchar participated in a dialogue
of questions and an answer period.
