Invasive Species and the Natural Resources Conservation Service

The Natural Resources Conservation Service employees work closely with Conservation Districts, other local partners, and with State and regional weed management organizations in their local efforts to detect, suppress, eradicate and/or manage invasive species.  Many Farm Bill programs such as the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP), Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHI)), Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), the Conservation Technical Assistance Program (CTA), and the Conservation Security Program (CSP) offer opportunities to address invasive species control and management through technical and financial assistance.

NRCS also provides much plant technical information through our PLANTS database (http://plants.usdsa.gov) and provides plant materials through our plant Materials Centers located across the nation (http://www.plant-materials.nrcs.usda.gov/).
