Voice of the Earth Team

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is the primary Federal agency that works with private landowners to help them conserve, maintain, and improve our natural resources and environment. We at the NRCS need people who are willing to commit their time and talent to conserving and protecting soil, water, and wildlife for their community and everyone in it.

Facts About the Earth Team

• The Earth Team has been around since 1981, when Congress passed legislation allowing NRCS to use volunteers in all programs.

• In 2002, over 38,000 Earth Team Volunteers donated over one million hours of their time to conservation practices.

• Total value of volunteer time in 2002 was over $17 million.

The "Voice of the Earth Team" contains information on volunteers and projects. The latest issue and any available past issues are available here in Adobe PDF format.
